A series of missile strikes by the Houthi group targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 10, 2026, leading to significant disruptions in air travel. Multiple airlines have canceled flights due to security concerns following the attacks.

The strikes resulted in the deaths of 12 people and injuries to over 300, according to Yahoo Finance. As a result, operations at the airport remain suspended, with ongoing security risks cited as the reason for the continued closure.

Major international airlines, including Emirates, Etihad, KLM, Air France, and Lufthansa, have canceled their flights to Saudi Arabia. Regional carriers such as flydubai and Air Arabia have also suspended flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi until October 12. Kuwait Airways canceled flights KU775 and KU776 on October 10 and has advised passengers to check their flight status regularly for updates.

King Khalid International Airport has urged passengers to verify their flight status with their respective airlines before heading to the airport. The situation has also put in question the planned resumption of flights by Air France and British Airways later this month, as well as Delta Air Lines' scheduled launch of a new route to Riyadh on October 23.

Travelers booked on affected flights may want to check their flight status regularly and prepare for potential further cancellations as the security situation develops.
