Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam are tightening their visa rules to address issues related to tourist visas and unauthorized employment. These changes affect foreign nationals visiting these countries, particularly those planning longer stays or engaging in professional activities.

In Thailand, the permitted stay for Indian nationals has been reduced from 60 days to 30 days, following confirmation by Thailand's Cabinet. This change took effect 15 days after its publication in the Royal Gazette. Additionally, Thailand has increased scrutiny on repeated border crossings for visa renewals, focusing on visa runs and unauthorized employment.

Indonesia has introduced a foreign tourist levy in Bali, set at IDR 150,000, effective February 2024. The country is also paying closer attention to foreign nationals violating stay conditions, including unauthorized employment, as a tourist visa does not permit work or commercial activities.

Vietnam continues to offer electronic visas and visa-exemption arrangements for eligible nationalities. However, visitors must comply with the authorized duration and purpose of stay.

Travelers planning to visit Thailand, Indonesia, or Vietnam should verify visa requirements and conditions for each country separately, especially if considering longer stays or engaging in professional activities.
